Not Enough Ports for a Dongle
Thursday, May 29th, 2008Some software is supplied with a dongle which must be plugged into the computer (usually a parallel port) in order for the software to be able to run on that computer. This is about as secure as it gets with ensuring that people have the appropriate licence to run the software since the dongle comes with the licence and without the dongle the software will not run at all. The problem comes where you do not have an available port on the computer to plug the dongle in. This article has some suggestions on how you might solve that problem.
