Comments

Your XHTML normally doesn’t need any sort of comments added to it since the tags themselves are relatively straightforward and you can identify what the parts of your page are by giving them meaningful ids and classes. There are a few occasions where additional information may be needed though (such as a reminder of where the code for an ad starts and finishes and when it is supposed to be removed). To be able to add information into the page when required you use an XHTML omment.
