This is not completely accurate. I did a custom install and did not
install the Software Updater, yet Avast is still downloading
updates to programs behind the scenes without any kind of
permission to do so. I have double checked under Add/Remove
Programs and it is not installed with Avast and should not be
downloading 3rd party programs without permission, and yet it is,
so disabling or uninstalling is not a 100% confirmed method of
removing it at this time.
